1. What is the name of the holiday?

Answer: The name of my holiday is Hajj.

2. When will the holiday be celebrated in 2011?

Answer: This holiday is celebrated on November 14 - November 17.

 3. Who celebrates this holiday? (Countries, religious groups, ethnic groups)

 Answer: Muslims celebrate this holiday.

4. Why is this holiday celebrated? What is the significance of this holiday?

Answer: The Hajj, or annual pilgrimage to Mecca, consists of several rituals which symbolize the essential concepts of the Islamic faith, such as devotion to God, brotherhood, and unity.  Hajj is required once in a Muslim’s lifetime if one is financially and physically able. Two to three million Muslims perform the pilgrimage annually.

5. How is this holiday celebrated? Include any rituals, food, costumes, dance or music associated with this holiday.

Answer:

Each pilgrim first enters into ihram. This is a spiritual state of purity during which the person must not quarrel, commit any act of violence or engage in sexual activity. Men signify the state of ihram by bathing, and wearing two pieces of unsewn white cloth: "one covers the body from waist to ankle and the other is thrown over the shoulder." ₄ Women usually wear a simple white dress and "a head covering, but not a veil." ₄ "The white garments are symbolic of human equality and unity before God, since all the pilgrims are dressed similarly." ₂ The pilgrim will then repeat the Talbiyah (Talbeeyah) prayer. One English translation is:

 "Here I am, O God, at Thy Command! Here I am at Thy Command! Thou art without associate; Here I am at Thy Command! Thine are praise and grace and dominion! Thou art without associate."

The card represents Christmas.
2. What type of images are used – photos, cartoons or graphics? How do the images used connect to the holiday/event?
Christmas Ortiments = Photo
3. In your opinion, is the cover of the card attention-grabbing? Explain exactly why or why not. Consider the arrangement of elements as well as use of images, color and text.
In my opinion the cover of the card is not attention-grabbing

 The holiday my card is representing is Christmas.
2. What type of images are used - photos, cartoons or graphics ? How do the images used connect tothe holiday/event ?
There are snowflakes, ortiments, i think a flower and some blue dots, etc.
3.In your opinion, is the cover of the card attention-grabbing ? Explain exactly why or why not. Consider the arrangement of elements as well as use of images, color and text.
In my opinion the cover of the card is not attention-grabbing, the reason for my answer is because the cover is kind of plain and not a card i would want to buy for anyone.
4. What text is written on the front of the card? Where is it located on the front?
The Text Says: Trees have lights, Bells have rings, Silent has the night, Angels have wings, Christmas has Eve, Year has New ... . This is locacted in the center of the card.
5. What text is written inside the card? Where is it located inside the card?
The text inside the card Says: Peace has Joy - Hope you do, too ! . Its located in the center of the card.
6. In your opinion, does the text inside the card connect to the image(s) on the cover? Explain exactly why or why not.
Yes, because its a Christmas theme.
7. What types of information appears on the back of the card? (Do not copy it exactly!)
The types of information on the back of the card is the company of the card, the website, the number,etc.
8. To what consumer is this card targeted? (Consider age group, gender, race and/or religion.) What about the design led you to this conclusion?
I would give it to an adult.

Blog Entry # 1.3 - Poster Analysis 3 (a)

1. A teacher (Scientist) and a student in the middle of an experiment or in the middle of a lab .
2. No, I dont think the image used in the poster effectively communicates the point of the poster because inquire means to seek information by questioning, so this image is not really matching with the whole meaning of the poster because she experimenting not really asking questions shes like working it out instead of asking questions .
3. Yes  it was of good choice of color and font .
4. Above and below the image .
5. The font for " Inquirers " is good but the words below the image could of been a little bigger . 

Blog Entry # 1.2 - Poster Analysis 2 ( a )

1. The image is showing a student helping another student up from the floor .
2. Yes, because if he didn't care he would just walk right past her and let her help herself up .
3. The poster is colorful and has a font big enough to read .
4.The words are located underneath the picture, the words are basically saying show you care .
5. Its very average and you can read the words, so thats good . This font is a good choice because you can understand the writing .

Blog Entry # 1.1 - Poster Analyisis 1 ( a )

1. There are four people in a canoe, and they are all working together .
2. Yes, i agree because they are all working togeher to move the canoe ; teamwork .
3. Well, the colors are kind of dull and boring but it does go with the theme of the poster .
4. The words are at the bottom of the poster . The first word basically means working together as one . The second set of words are really small and i cant read them .
5. I think its good and bad because " TeamWork " is a good size font but those other words below teamwork are bad because they are to small .
